Home Resort

The concept of home resort has gained space in small and large cities in the country. In the search for quality of life and security, more and more families have been privileging the leisure areas inside their homes. This homecoming - known as cocooning - originated in the United States. In Brazil, this phenomenon is closely linked to the increase in crime. The houses are designed with gourmet spaces, pools, waterfalls, small beaches and saunas. The idea is to reproduce nature inside the house, providing meetings with friends and thus avoiding external dangers. In this project created by the architect Aquiles Nicolas Kílaris, the concept of home resort was proposed by the professional to the client, a couple of young entrepreneurs with two young daughters. The project is for a comfortable, spacious and at the same time cozy home, with bold architectural lines, aesthetic beauty and comfort due to the cross ventilation provided by large window openings. These windows allow a perfect harmonic integration with the nature of the house's surroundings, since from all points it is possible to see the landscaping. With regard to architecture, the house has its own structure that serves as a support and at the same time resembles a sculpture. All this, combined with the unmistakable style of Kílaris, which values curved lines and organic forms. The sauna is a volume independent of the goumert space that is born from the round slab itself. Part of it is made of masonry and part of tempered glass. From inside it is possible to have direct communication with the pool. At night, all architectural details are highlighted with fiber optic lighting. The environment is complemented with a gourmet space, a barbecue area, wood oven, rest and socializing. Landscaping is also a strong point in the project that helps in creating the home resort, bringing nature into the home, creating an atmosphere of well-being. The warmth from outside was brought into the house, with spacious and functional environments that meet the needs of the family. In the kitchen, brushed steel appliances and an island for preparing food, whose main objective is to facilitate circulation on the spot. The spacious home theater with decoration that makes references to the cinema, was created to meet the taste of the owner, a confessional film buff.
