Serra's House

The landscape of Serra da Cantareira has always been the starting point for the construction of the dream home of a businessman couple from São Paulo. Contextualized in this scenario, they wanted a special, beautiful and functional property. During the design phase and the execution of the work, they got to know the work of the architect Aquiles Nicolas Kílaris and decided to hand him the task of completing the property. Curves, winding lines, large window openings and cross ventilation are present in this proposal, which bears the professional's signature and trademark. The project, developed in a closed condominium in Serra da Cantareira, has 788.90 m² of built area, on a land of 2,205 m². This land has a strong slope and the positioning of the bedrooms, the living room and the leisure and pool area faces the stunning mountain landscape. Despite the green and natural setting, the architecture has a cosmopolitan touch due to the use of its materials and design of the house. It was designed in an integrated way. All areas of the social area are interconnected, without the presence of walls. The fireplace was designed to warm up the cold nights in the region and the large doorways integrate the interior area with nature on purpose. Exactly for this reason, the internal decoration is clean, to allow the green of the mountains and the blue of the pool with waterfall to be the main scenario inside the house. The living room also has a home theater function, as all environments are integrated. The pool was designed in an organic way and covered in porcelain tile, with several colors of blue, which give the feeling of the depth of the sea. It is integrated into the gourmet space, which has tables, barbecue and an area for contemplation. In another part of the land, a forest was designed, taking advantage of the local vegetation. The strong shade of red was used to make an intervention in the green of nature. Attached to this space, a soccer court was built and stations for rest and contemplation were created with elevated futton, armchair and hammock.
